August Guild and Quilt Show Announcement. . .

Excitement is in the air for our upcoming quilt show.

quiltshowposter 13

This show is the hi-lite of the year for us kennel girls.  If you are in the area,  it’s a ‘must see’ event!

What could be more beautiful than a backyard full of handmade quilts.

You will find them lining the fence as well as incorporated into fun vignettes.  The luncheon and trunk show are both always fabulous and you will want to bring your pocket books.  Shopping with the vendors is a delight.  This year we will have a wonderful sale of donated surplus items.  I can just imagine the goodies you’ll find there.

The funds earned from the surplus items is going for a wonderful cause.  Catch Rachels Story here: https://www.facebook.com/events/430445407045418/

Mark your calendars and we look forward to seeing you!

Now onto this months meeting.

The meeting was held at Sue’s house and as you can see, she is one of those; “never an idle moment’ kind of gals.  Stitching in hand and busy as usual.

July Quilt Guild. . .Making Plans

Some of the ‘Kennel Girls’ gathered together for another work meeting and to make plans for  our up and coming Quilt Show.

Joylyn, Lynda, Jill, Jann, Sue, Diana, and Amanda.

IMG_1446

Before we talked business we had ‘show and tell’

Jill shared this quilt made from such fun colors.

IMG_1435

It’s a great design with the inner white blocks and the flowers scattered randomly here and there.

IMG_1436

She also showed us this cute lady bug runner.

IMG_1437

I’m just betting that she has been seeing lady bugs in her sleep.  She made 5 of these cute things.

IMG_1438

Sue shared this blue and white beauty.  Love it!

IMG_1439

IMG_1440

Diana shared this fat quarter bundle that she won at the last ‘Shop Hop’.   She only visited one store, Broadbents in Lehi.  How lucky was that to have won?   A few of our ‘Kennel Girls’ work there.  And no, it wasn’t rigged.  lol!

IMG_1441

I’d say she’s mighty happy to be a ‘Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner”.

IMG_1442

Blocks were turned in that will be made into our charity quilt for the show.

IMG_1444

The date has been set for Sept. 6th.  Mark your calendars and plan to spend the day.  It’s such a fun time!  The luncheon is always fabulous and we have a great ‘Four Seasons’ trunk show planned.

Hope to see you there!

Playing Catch up. . .April Guild

Spring is long gone and as you can see I am playing catch up.   Although I don’t have pictures from every month, I do have a couple that I would like to share.

April found the Kennel Girls buzzing with excitement.  It was a work meeting and everyone had been looking forward to spending a few hours together.  Although I was not able to stay, I popped in for a while and then left my camera for the gals to snap a few pics.

Rae Ann was busily setting up.

IMG_0553

Doesn’t she look organized?

IMG_0554

Sue showed us what a great start she had on her 2’ square blocks.  This is a quilt project we are working on for our ‘2014’ Quilt Show.

IMG_0555

I’m not sure which is more ‘happy’, Susann’s smile or her cheery sweater and scarf.

IMG_0558

Each month we go through our stash and bring an assortment of 2” squares to share.  Lynda, Jill, and Amanda are gathering theirs.

IMG_0559

Lynda had been busy and shared some fun show and tell.

IMG_0566

Her and her sister, Jill showed us these darling ‘play’ houses they had made.

IMG_0572

It makes you wish you were a little girl again.

Here’s Laurie poking her head out from this beauty she shared.

IMG_0574

Now it’s Sue’s turn.  As usual, she has been ever so busy.

For this months demonstration Diana taught a technique called ruching that  she learned from Becky, the owner of Stitches and So Forth, ( Morgansen’s ) Quilt Shop in Payson.
