Christmas Luncheon. . .

It is our yearly tradition to hold the ‘Dog Kennel’ luncheon at the Alpine Country Club.  Lynda has arranged this for a number of years.

The food is always delicious and the company superb!  Thanks Lynda for doing this.

Look at our cute logo and sign welcoming us.

Our compliments to the chef!  Like I said, the food is always delicious.  I snapped my tomato basil soup and scrumptious cookie, but forgot the main course. lol!  I was too busy eating.

The tables are always so festive and their rolls are to die for!

A lot of members come bearing gifts.  I gave everyone a doggy ornament.  There were other fantastic gifts and guess who didn’t get a picture?  I arrived late because one of my grandies had a school program that I could NOT miss.  Everyone was eating their soup when I arrived and I snapped my gift and started chowing.  so sorry!

This year they had new Christmas décor and it was gorgeous.  All dressed in white.

Look at this little prankster popping in for a shot.

On the way out Jill, Amanda, and I snapped a couple pics by the entrance.  You can tell by their baskets that they are taking home lots of goodies.

Thanks ladies for another fabulous Christmas luncheon.  Not only did we leave with full bellies and goodies, a lot of us took home doggy bags.

How could we not?  It’s in our blood.

November Meeting. . .

Nothing like doing November’s blog post the last day of Dec.  That’s right, I’m playing catch up.   I bet you can guess what one of my New Years Resolutions is going to be.  Yup, to post the kennel news on time.

Even though this was a month and a half ago I remember it well.

The meeting was held at Sue’s home.  It was so nice to see some members who had not been for quite some time.

Jill W., Laurie, and Sylvia.  Laurie is our President this year.  She had to go to work, but popped in for a few minutes.

Joylyn and Susann.  Pam came later, guess I missed getting a picture of her.

Show and Tell:

Amanda showed us her wonderful Utah quilt.  Can you believe she is making three more of these for Christmas gifts?

Sue made this fun Halloween quilt.

Pam showed us her daughters darling Fall applique quilt.

Owls are all the rage.  Isn’t this one cute?

Sue talked to us about a book she had bought.  Cut the Scraps by Joan Ford.

She has started cutting her scraps into 5”, 3 1/2”, and 2” squares.  She showed us some of the quilts she had made using them.

She showed us a new tool, a Friskars turn table.  It looked like it would be very useful.  I am thinking I need one.  Then we took a tour of her sewing room.

Look how organized she is.  She has divided her scraps by color.

It was a fun an informative meeting.  Those who were not there were missed!

Have a dog gone good day,
