LOVE was in the air!

Joylyn showed us this Classic Lone Star quilt that Carmen will be teaching at our doggy treat class in March. It's a method similar to paper piecing that helps your star turn out perfectly. You will want to let Joylyn know asap if you are interested in taking the class. The fee is $30 for members and $35 for non. I will be posting more info.

Sue has moved back from St. George and we are all very happy to have her return to the guild.
Here she is posing with her festive tree skirt.

Rae Ann has a great start on this quilt for our next Schnibbles class that will be taught in April. Could it be because she thought she had to teach it in March? I'll never tell. Her sample is made from a line called 'Boutique". I love the colors. It makes me think of a colorful flower garden. No wonder I love it.

Diana, Janey, and Sue showed their finished Winter White quilts from our January Schnibbles class taught by Rae Ann. I loved all of them and it's fun to see how the variety of fabrics make them look so different. Did you notice that Janey reversed her lights and darks?

Lynda showed us her quick, easy, warm and snuggly lap quilts that she had made for her mom, dad, and Father-in -law. She did all the stippling herself. Quite an accomplishment.
Janey showed this quilt she designed out of a line called French General. I love the colors and all the different florals, stripes, and dots. She started with a Layer Cake and cut 2 1/2 inches off the side and then another 2 1/2 inches off the bottom to create this creative look. Later that day I rode with Diana to Payson to pick up a quilt and we stopped at a gift shop in Springville called 'Porch on the Main'. Remember, this is a gift shop not a quilt shop. Guess what they had. A pack of 7" squares of French General. I wonder who had to buy it? Darn, I broke one of my goals for 2010. Just have to say, "the devil, or I mean Janey, made me do it."

Not only did she make the cute French General quilt, but look at these socks Janey knitted herself. Love, Love, them!

Rae Ann's little cowboy quilt with it's colorful border was another big hit!
Just wanted a close-up so you could see how cute the fabrics were.

Jill Carroll made this darling toile black and white number. It would be right up Audrey Hepburns alley.

Every quilt was a hit but I must admit that this one of Lyndas stole the show. Last year Broadbent Quilt Shop offered one of these embroidery house patterns as a monthly
complimentary gift. This quilt was made up using the fabric kits that you were able to purchase to go with each pattern. I've posted just a few close-ups so you can see the cute details. Broadbents will be featuring this in May.

I had to snap a pic of these three cuties all dressed in pink and red. Do you think that maybe they love Valentines Day? (Joylyn, Sue, and Rae Ann)

Diana made this cute Valentine topper out of a panel that looks like hankies. Love the pinwheels! Now all it needs is a box of chocolates and she's ready for the big day!

Jackie showed this fun book cover that her daughter is doing for her Young Womens class.

This apron definately gets me in the mood for Spring. Can't wait until we have some real roses.

I am a red and white lover so this quilt of Rae Ann's made my heart skip a beat. She made it as a seasonal bedspread. Won't it be so cute for Christmas, Valentines, and Fourth of July.

She also made another schnibbles Winter White quilt for Valentines. Gotta love it!

What a darling Bugggy Barn Heart quilt! Jackie said that it wasn't her favorite because it was too busy. We all loved it and offered to take it off her hands. Unfortunately, none of us walked away with it. Guess she decided it wasn't too busy after all.
Look at her cute scrappy pieced border binding and back.

My husband told me that whenever he listens to us women talk about quilts that he hears the word cute more times than he can count. At Tuesdays guild the word of choice just happened to be LOVE. After each quilt was unveiled I just kept hearing "Oh, I love it"! Yes, I must admit that I contributed a few of those 'I love it'. It seems as though cupid himself had stopped in and shot a few of his LOVE arrows in the air. So ladies I hope you love all of your quilts and that you are able to spend Valentines day with someone you love. Remember that a way to a man's heart is through his stomach. If you cook him up something sweet I'm sure he'll be much more generous the next time you ask, "honey can I buy that fabric"?

I'm so glad you take pictures and post them all because even though this all happened just the other day, I had already forgotten what all the quilts looked like that I just love and want to copy! I'm glad you found some French General. It's a nice line...even my husband liked it! I almost wish I had made it king size...Anyway, it was a fun meeting, thanks again Jan!

  2. I really enjoyed looking at all the quilts that you guys were able to accomplish this past month. I must be a slacker!!! Maybe next month I will have something to show. Enjoy our meetings - it is fun to see how creative you all are. I agree with Janey - it is too easy to forget all the wonderful creations that are shared each month.
