In Sept. the Kennel Girls headed South to St. George, UT for a week long get away.
Oh my, what a sweet retreat it was.
Along the way we passed many reminders of how blessed we are to live in this beautiful country. One of them being our beloved flag. Nothing quite like the photo of one blowing in the breeze.
But we also encountered some crazy weather. Even flooding at one end of the town.
But at the end we were rewarded with a gorgeous rainbow.
Jill was only with us for a couple of days. Then it was off to Mesquite for some fun with her hubby and friends.
She still managed to get this ‘Snibbles’ quilt finished.
Cindy made this darling table topper. the appliqued flowers will be added at home.
This photo shows how it will look when completed. She does gorgeous applique!
Here she is draped in the blocks that she finished for another quilt. She had ordered it off of the internet and didn’t even realize it was the same line of fabric as the topper. Obvious that she loved it. lol! But won’t it be cute to have a quilt to match the topper?
This girl doesn’t ‘monkey ‘ around. She made this cutie for a niece.
And got all of the blocks for this sweet sailboat quilt finished as well.
Sue is our ‘preparedness’ gal. She has containers full of fabrics that she has cut into a particular size. They help her whip quilts out like there’s no tomorrow.
Miss Janey loves Fall and Halloween! This one is for one of her children.
She made this beautiful log cabin quilt with her leftover scraps.
Joylyn is our little ‘miss perfect’. Before she does any pressing or trimming her blocks come out looking gorgeous!
Cheryl is a previous member that just returned to the Kennel Girls. We’re so glad to have her back! It was so fun reconnecting with her in St. George!!
Both of these beauties still need their borders.
Rae Ann is our gourmet chef! Here she is with her famous ‘earthquake cake’. I am not a chocolate lover, but this is delish!!
Lynda was a girl with a mission! She worked on a couple of intricate little blocks but most of her time was creating this amazing card table house. It is a gift for her 3 year old granddaughter that she would hand deliver it to her in a couple of weeks.
Little flowers that she can take on and off.
Her garden with fun veggies!
So many darling little details. . .like the owls.
Mind you, we didn’t have a card table to drape this on so two kennel girls are under there holding this house up for the photo shoot. lol! Thanks girls!!
A few years ago we did a homespun fabric exchange in the guild. I finally made this half square triangle quilt. I actually made it larger when I got home and it will be a Christmas gift for my 16 year old grandson.
I got my watermelon quilt put together, but I still need to miter the borders.
The week literally flew by and we had a wonderful time!
Keep on quilting!
