February’s meeting was a work meeting held at the church off of 4800 W.
Our turn out wasn’t too bad, even with our President still basking in the AZ sun, and some members not being able to attend.
JoyLyn, Sue, and Susann.
Rita, RaeAnn, and Diana. Rita Millar came as a guest of Rae Ann’s. Happy to announce that she will be joining our group. Be sure and give her a Dog-Gone good welcome into the Kennel!
This is the basket pattern that was chosen for our charity quilt. Diana has patterns for each block. Be sure and get one if you haven’t already. Some of the members want to make additional blocks to exchange. This way they will be able to make a quilt of their own.
The following have signed up to do so:
Susann, Rita, Diana, Jann. Please let us know when you get your pattern if you want to join in.
We will be using Aunt Gracies for our fabrics. Rae Ann will get a bolt of Kona white that we will all use for our background. We also ask that you stick to the colors that are shown in the block pattern that you choose. That way we will have a good variety of colors in the quilt.
The blocks will be due at July’s guild.
Rita showed us this beautiful quilt that she made for her bed.
Notice the variety of colors in the Batik fabric.
Then she showed us a variety of blocks that she has made for another quilt that will go to her mother. Lucky mom!
After showing us her work she also showed us a new ruler that she had used for her El’s Kitchen blocks.
It’s called The Goddess Tool by: Needle in a Hayes Stack. You can find out more about it here: www needleinahayesstack.biz
We are so happy to have Rita join our group and it’s easy to see why RaeAnn calls her “The Get Er Done Girl”!
Sue also shared her wonderful barn blocks from a class she joined at ‘Quilts Etc. It’s called “Every Barn Has a Story” She is doing it in Amish colors.
She also shared this pretty peach and blue number.
Happy Quilting,
the Kennel Girls
