I have been slow at getting around to doing this post. Initially it was because I needed to find out the name of the lady who did the show for us. I found that out a couple weeks ago so don’t ask me why I have been so slow.
One of our members, Jill Carroll asked Maxine Oakson, a lady she knew from Delta, UT to do our show.
Her collection was a lot of vintage quilts. I loved them! I think you will too.
(you can click on the pics to enlarge them)
This is Jill introducing Maxine. She brought along a young friend to assist her.
I apologize that the pics are not great. The area was half shade/half sun. My camera was not happy.
These old fashioned quilt designs never go out of style.
A couple of mini quilts.
Appliqued butterflies and bows.
The butterflies on this quilt were made from vintage clothing.
Look at the detail in this hand quilting.
Maxine also showed us some quilts that she had made.
This applique quilt was breathtaking! She said that she bought the kit for $9 on close out at Z.C.M.I. years ago. Can you imagine? Her work is exquisite!
She showed us how she loved making blocks out of the tiniest scraps. Because of this, one of her friends gave her this panel.
Last of all, she amazed us with this quilt she made, Grandmother’s Flower Garden.
Which was featured in this calendar.
She is one talented lady. Her quilts were all gorgeous, but this one stole my heart!
Thank you Jill for setting up such a wonderful trunk show.
What a fun time we had!
